GEORGIA--- WEEK 2 WRAP-UP

Work here at Pine Mountain Campground is really meager..the people that we had contracted with for our WORKAMPER positions no longer own the camp ground, just managing it this summer. New owners have contracted out the lawn mowing to a lawn service, so John's work is almost nothing,, he spends his 5 hours a day going around on the golf cart trying too look busy ; like gathering trash along the highways out front and back, killing poison ivy, helping Judy with the flower bed weeding and mulching,, trimming hedges, and escorting a few campers to their respected sites.. Judy cleans the rest rooms and showers and is tackling the task of making the flower beds look as good as possible (with out any budget for flower replacement) ,, Today Judy and I went to Plains Ga. Marantha Baptist Church ,, where Former President Jimmy Carter was teaching the Sunday School lesson , the church aud was packed so full, Judy and I had to sit in the Choir loft,,,must of been over 400 people there today mostly all visitors. Plains is a 90 minute drive from here.. those that had their cameras were allowed too have their picture taken with the Carters after worship service,,, I forgot to take our camera so we didn't get one ( this time) . We then toured around Plains some before coming "home" . It was to windy and cool too enjoy much outside. There is a possibility that we might be headed back into Mississippi for more Volunteer work and some possible long term work later ----might happen in mid May please pray that Gods will be done in this matter. We just want every one to have a wonderful week and too Take God along with them daily.

SECRET MESSAGE from THE TRAVELING CATS

Hi to all of you: First off, let me introduce ourselves. We are the TRAVELING CATS, better known as Bam-Bam and Pebbles. We are traveling with Mom and Dad against our will, but we are adjusting ok. We heard that Dad wasn't going to be on here for awhile, so we thought ya' ll might like to hear our side of traveling in a 5er. It is OK , but pretty rocky and bumpy with dad driving up and down all those hill and turns back in Missouri . WE did survive. The only draw back for us cats is that now we are confined to staying inside ( no more roaming the neighborhood), Pebbles as a new playmate here in Ga, a female cardinal keeps attacking the big living room window, so pebbles keeps chasing it away. What fun it is to watch the antics of that bird. Mom keeps coming home in the afternoons with her gardening trowel, pebbles just cannot understand how mom can work in a garden bed with-out pebble ever watchful eye for garden intruders. Me (Bam-Bam) I just spend most of my day staying in the front closet, just out for the mandatory calls of nature. Then I can't wait for darkness when dad gives us our daily treats. I better get off of here, pebbles just meowed that the folks are on their way in. So watch this space from time to time and we will tell ya' all the real story of living in a 5er. THE TRAVELING CATS

IS THIS HEAVEN ???????

Well Judy thinks so ! She got to spend her 1st 4 hours of work weeding the entrance planters. She is suppose to take care of all the plants on property, along with cleaning the restrooms/showers once a workday and then clean the 2 on site cabins when they have been used before her shift. I get to ride around on a golf cart doing minor grounds work (like fallen twigs, branches, and limbs. Or picking up paper trash and other liter.) Then if a camper checks in while i am on duty, I am to escort them to their assigned camp space after they have finished checking in. When mowing season starts guess who will behind the controls. Yes, that's right so watch out wild life. This past Monday, our assignment was to go over to CALLAWAY GARDENS ( to learn about it, so we could share with the campers when asked about it) darn someone has to know about. Judy really thought she had entered heaven while we were there. WE CAN WHOLEHEARTEDLY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO VISIT THE GARDENS . Then on Tues. we went to ALDI'S near Atlanta (almost 65 miles away). We kind of missed our turn and ended up only 12 miles outside of Atlanta. So from now on I am going to make sure all of route before we leave camp property. LOL Since we aren't doing so much exciting activities for awhile I probably wont post another update til Monday. Judy and I would like to remind everyone that this is the season to remember why we celebrate Christ coming and dyeing on the cross for all of us. We hope that you all enjoy the time with your family and friends.
