\
On Friday, Judy had a follow-up exam at Dr. Glazers' it was determined that she should add a new prescription to her Medicine regiment. It will take about 6 to 9 weeks to determine if this is a viable change. We then met Jan and Jim Gee , Ohio ,NOMADS whom we had worked with in 2007at Va. and N.C. for 2 projects and became friends with, They are wintering here in the RGV. We all went to the Rio Grande Music Festival and heard some great Country,Bluegrass and Gospel performers. The Link Family was one of them. After 5hrs of music and visiting, we decided to catch a bite and continue our visit. Sometime during the day John had lost his Cell phone.

So on Saturday the Longs went shopping , Lowes (for paint supplies replacement) Best Buy (for a new camera and photo printer) Wal-mart (for Judy's new Meds.) Don-West flea market (try to find a special Birthday gift for Samantha, who will be 17 on March 1st, she is John's daughter. Then we stopped by the Verizon store and got Judy's phone updated to a newer model (one with better volume and larger keys and displays) Now John is using the old phone but has the same Cell Number 319-899-7602 and Judy's is her same Number 319-521-4458.

Sunday we opted to attend the Gospel session at RGV music fest instead of attending a regular church service. What a blessing we received.

Then this morning it was back to our regular NOMAD daily routine of Devotions (led by Carolyn Mitchell, today)
then it was to resume painting of the HUGE complex on the south end of the grounds. work from 8:30 til 10:15 break til 10:35 then work til Noon, Return at 1 pm til 2:15 break then finish up 2:35 til 4pm.

As we close please remember Judy's Aunt Loretta in hospital with pneumonia

All of our Service personnel who protect our freedoms.

The CRM Chaplains as they are ministering.

Our Country and all of its leaders that they may lead us wisely.

Please remember us as we our still seeking Gods leadership for us
concerning our New work with CRM.

We will try to get some pictures with the new camera this week and resume adding pictures here on our blog, if requested.

May God Blessing go out to each of you as we start the Easter Season this week with Ash Wednesday. May each of you pray for a loved lost one that they may come to know the true meaning of Easter , When our loving Savior died on the cross for each of us, and then arose to be with His Father, Our GOD.

Special Hugs and appreciation to all for your encouragement and prayers that are felt by us

NOMAD PROJECT PERIOD 2-CAMP THICKET

Hola:

NOTICE ! NOTICE! NOTICE!
There will NOT be any pictures for awhile as John has misplaced the camera.

Judy and John spent the whole day over on South Padre Island last Friday. The air temperature was 82 and the water temperature, in the Gulf, was 72.. We walked along the beech and gathered some small sea shells. We stopped in some of the business to purchase a few souvenirs , also toured the KOA RV park, along with the county RV park, for future potential camping spots. We also saw folks Kite-Boarding and others Wind-Board Surfing, very amazing and beautiful to WATCH.

We have finished the project here at Camp Thicket for period 2 , but we will be staying here for project period 3,(save some traveling expense and tear down and set up time, which allows us more time to take in the events around the area :) )

We mostly painted the rest of the buildings on the outside this week.

On Monday night the LONGS joined the MITCHELLS for a game of SKIP BO girls against the guys 2 games were enjoyed and had tied results.

On Tuesday night we all went over to UMC Mercedes to Listen to the BLACKWOOD LEGACY trio...which sang in the old Blackwood Quartet style... one of the gentleman had sang with them. They have a 22 y.o man that is exceptionally talented on the piano and guitar. The evening was enjoyed by all.

On Wednesday night the ANNIS (from Iowa) and the LONGS went to the PINE TO PALM RV RESORT to hear the LINK FAMILY of Lebanon, Mo. They also play at Silver Dollar City, Mo. in their season. WE ALL HIGHLY RECOMMEND that everyone should catch their performance sometime.

Tonight Judy and John met with Dennis and Sally Mahoney CRM founder along with Jack and Karen Gregory, to discuss what roll (s) The Longs will be doing through/with CRM. It was discussed that John would assist Jack at Adventureland during the summer with Bible Studies and any other needed assistance Then in October the Longs will be returning to Coffeyville, Kan.(if that is the LORDS Will) to lead the CRM work there for the folks with AMAZON/EXPRESS EMPLOYMENT. At that time other opportunities will be discussed. PLEASE join us in praying about these decisions.

Judy returns to Dr.Glaizer, here in the Valley, for a follow up exam and lab reports. She has had a pretty good week at working and being able to enjoy all of the extra evening events.

We will be joining old NOMAD friends Jim and Jan Gee, on Friday afternoon for the Rio Grande Valley Music Festival, which has 5 stages of entertainment going on from 9a.m. til 10p.m. started on Thurs thru Sundays free 3 hour Gospel Sing/Performance.... wish we could find our camera to take some pictures.

Please continue praying for All of the NOMADS that leaving a project or traveling to a project this week-end.

Remember the CRM Chaplains as they prepare for their respected services and prepare the hearts of their worshipers so that GODS Message will be heard.

Continue to pray or our Country and the Leadership also the Service Personnel that protect our rights.

May GOD touch each of you in a Special way this week!!!

Blessings and HUGS

CAMP THICKET-WESLACO, TX.

Meowwwwwww!!!

Dad and mom have been busy here in southern Texas, We have the Endeavor parked at Methodist Camp Thicket, a rural setting not far from Weslaco, Tx. Dad says that us cats can't even run free here, because of the Bobcats, and other wild animals. Then on the weekends, there are those 2 legged "pests". Kids running all over the grounds, even close to the RVs.

During the 1st week Dad, Bill Mitchell, and Harold Annis built a roof cover for the Bar-B-Que area near the North Complex.
While Mom,Carolyn Mitchell, and Jo Ann Annis cleaned the Kitchens in both the North and South complexes and the restrooms in the South.

Dad replaced a faucet and cleaned the drain, so that it would empty more quickly, in the North Dining room restroom.

Then on Wednesday the Team started in painting the exterior of the 15 buildings on the Camp property. By Thursday evening they had completed cottages 1,2, and 3. of the North complex.

We (us Traveling Cats) were orphaned on Friday as the folks went to see a new Dr. for Moms pain, along with shopping and getting acquainted with the area. Then on Saturday they went to visit their friends, Jack and Karen Gregory, who are over in Alamo Rec-Veh RV park, along with Dennis and Sally Maloney (the founder of CRM). Sunday found them attending the Worship hour at Alamo Rec-Veh. Mom said that it was just a wonderful experience, especially hearing a gifted speaker as Chaplain Dennis is. Sunday night Mom and Dad went to the Chicken Coop Opry for the Sunday Night Gospel sing,, Mom said that it wasn't too bad for Amatures,17 performers along with a back up group. but it is too far to attend each week that we are here,

Mom and Dad managed to get in 2 game nights this week. The group played Mexican Train one night , then they played Hand and Foot.

Week 2 we didn't see much of them again as they were busy painting buildings 4,5,6,7, and 13.

Dad took time to install a donut gasket on a stool in building 5 that was leaking badly, he also added a new flush handle to this stool. The stall next door also needed a new handle. Dad checked and tested the other 6 stalls for needed work, found none. Then he was handed an Exit light that needed to be installed in the Chapel, as one had gotten broken.

Tonight they had a Fish Fry potluck, Mr Annis had been fishing each morning since they got here and had a tidy sum of Catfish to be consumed and WE DIDN'T even had and invite for left overs. The Mitchells made slaw and hush puppy s, Dad made is Famous Peach Cobbler.. they also had mixed melon/fruit and rolls . The other couple staying and working this week are Roger and Barb from Wisconsin

Mom and Dad were late in coming in as they stayed with the Annis and Mitchells and played something called Pegs and Jokers. Sooo watch out you all dad is learning all of these new games to spring on you.

Tomorrow the folks are planning on heading to South Padre Island.
so they are headed in now so I better get off of here before dad takes my treat time away.

May GOD BLESS
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr bye.
