We are at UMC Boys Ranch at Gore, Ok where we are joined by 2 other NOMADS couples, we have been working in the boys dorms recovering the bathroom room walls and making minor repairs and replacing outdated fixtures. Judy worked one day in the flower beds. John and Judy spent the last week cleaning out a storage area and then replacing excess can goods that were donated to the Boys Ranch . We then reorganized their Kitchen pantry and spice cabinet.
The Boys Ranch is going tNo have a Sun Raise Service on Easter, afterwards the Maintenance Director and John are going to prepare a breakfast for all that attended.
We will be here at Gore (THE BOYS RANCH) for another week, then unto Tahlequah and CAMP EGAN we had an opportunity to travel over there a week ago , and boy are we excited to get too stay there for 3 weeks before returning To IOWA and the start of Johns 'WORKAMPER' assignment at ADVENTURELAND PARK in Altoona. John will be a rides operator. We will be staying in the ADVENTURELAND CAMPGROUND right now we slated to be in lot space # 24 Ok no grief from you Nascar fans and no excuses for not knowing where we are. Judy went and saw a local Doctor here, who then gave her some steroids which helped her get through this last week. She will consult with her Dr., in Marengo on Monday to see what he has to input on her treatment plan.
Will this is getting long and maybe I should post more often LOL and learn how to share all of pictures we are taking.. ALSO we spent yesterday in Ft. ECK!!!!!!

HOWDY Y'all

We just wanted to let you know that we even have that 'great' white stuff here in Texas also....eck!!! eck! eck!. Because of that we had to delay the departure from Rainbows End a couple of days because of poor road conditions and high winds. We are headed to the United Methodist Boys Ranch, near Gore, Ok. and they have around 6 inches of snow there and still snowing yet today. We plan on traveling on Saturday.
Samantha is back in Davenport and seams to have gotten the 'wake-up call' we sent her and getting along better with her Mother and school. She is on a new Med. which seams to be helping at this time. My Boys are doing great but like the rest of the Iowans are getting tired of all the snow and nasty weather.. looks like they have 9 school days to make up... Please keep Samantha and the family there in your prayers
One of the NOMADS team couples that were to be with us at Gore, are John and Sally Geiser, whom we had the privilege of working with on our very 1st NOMADS Team project last March, at Holly Springs, Ms. (Rust College). They had to cancel out of this project at Gore, because of health problems with John,,, he is having some minor surgery for heart problems today ,,so please keep them in your prayers.
Rich is trying to adjust to the schedule at MHI in Indepenace, Ia. He just doesn't understand why he keeps returning there..He needs prayer for his understanding and coping with the requirements there.
After Gore we will be traveling to Tahlequah, Ok. CAMP EGAN RETREAT CENTER
where we will be helping them to get the grounds and buildings ready for their upcoming residential camping season. Then on to Adventureland at Altoona , Iowa on April 21st , for John's orientation, as a workamper rides operator for the season there through Oct 1st. Judy has elected not to be working this summer. This will give her time to travel to see her friends and family in Iowa. Maybe even relax and enjoy all of the amenities of the ADVENTURELAND COMPLEX. As we will be staying in the Adjoining campground. Between the theme park and the casino, with the campground swimming pool just a few steps away from our assigned spot.
We hope this finds y'all healthy and in good spirits. May Gods Blessing be with you.

THE LONGS- JUDY and JOHN and the TRAVELING CATS -BAMM, BAMM AND PEBBLES.
