GOOD-BYE VIRGINIA; HELLO NORTH CAROLINA

Hi Friends, Family, and Dear Ones:

Well we finished up our 11weeks, over-all in Virginia, with our stay at WESTVIEW On

JAMES RETREAT AND CAMP. Where Judy and her fellow paint crews finished painting

BOTH the Womens and Mens Showers and restrooms... these walls now have a shinny new

coat of Light Green on the mens side, and a coat of Light Blue on the womens side.

The crew of the Gees and the Waters, finished their project of insulting and closing in the

restroom and showers to allow them to be used year round. THANK-YOU GUYS for a

job well done.

John and his 2 co-workers didn't quite get their project completed. Just lacking the new

overhang in the rear of the cabin where there is a new exterior wall and entry door with

2 new beams underneath for support. The new wall was stained. The back deck

reassembled.

NOW ABOUT OUR ADVENTURES IN LEAVING

I went to hitch the Ram up to the 5er and the latch didn't open causing the 5er to leave the

hitch and fall unto the bed sides, thus causing the front leveling leg and the street side to

get out wack and not allow it to function, So we had to stay the night Friday, after a quick

trip to Richmond and a VERY FRIENDLY RV DEALER. whom gave us an idea on

how to get around (temporally) our trouble.

We found North Carolina about 4hrs later and didn't experience any further troubles UNTIL

Sunday. As we were cruising along interstate 40 (after going past the Richard Petty Museum
and The Victory Junction Gang Camp on route 220) the Ram started running odd. Then after
Asheville going down a VERY Up and down and twist and turns MISSOURI WAS A

PIECE OF CAKE compared to these mountains, the connection to the electric brakes on

the trailer came away from the plug-in on the pick-up,,, meaning that I had NO BRAKES on

the trailer, making the pick-up do all the stopping ,,,THANK YOU GOD for seeing that we

just had rear brakes redone on Tuesday. THEN we get on the road leading to HINTON

RURAL CENTER and at the top of very last 100 yds is VERRRRRRRRY steep incline

and I misread a sign and made a stop. WELL the pick up refused to move any further. Judy

went for help, she was able to get around me in her car. The NOMADS men came to

assist me. Again THANK YOU GOD, as someone or something told me to try my 4 wheel

drive mode.... IT WORKED. So later this week we will get Ram checked out and parts

replaced on the 5er.

HELLO HINTON:

We have 6 NOMADS couples here this week although 1 couple is ill (please pray for

Jack and Arlene Fenn). Today Judy learned how to apply insulation along with 3 other

ladies. John started trimming out the electrical outlets and switches in another house. These

house (7 of them) are for low income families, who are also working 20 hrs a week on them.

PEBBLES AND BAMM-BAMM send their meowwwwwwwwwwwwwwws also.

PLEASE REMEMBER US IN YOUR PRAYER THAT THINGS WORK OUT ON

OUR REPAIR JOBS AND THE COST IS NOT ABSORBENT..

Judy and I are having fun but we sure miss having the fun times in IOWA also.

til next time GOD BLESSINGS AND GUIDANCE TOO ALL
